Good point! Aargh, didn't notice this topic any earlier. More or less it describes/includes my own experience. Currently, the backend implies to save everything for each style! Don´t have a complete list or comparison, but I noticed it the first time on setting up a demo page with BOTH responsive menu styles. (1. collapsable dropdown, 2. off-canvas)

Apart from changing this option to a style parameter ;-) ...
I am not sure if it is the best idea to mix style and global parameters in the same tab. Could result in bad readability and confusion, because the user is actually editing the current style settings... why should it include and override another style's settings. A real bummer, IMHO.

If the general layout and backend appearance is not going to be changed, i would tend to have a special tab for all global settings. An extra Tab or Bar ? Or a Button with modal window, like all general options in J! core (gear icon) ?
