So I've just found this mod, and it's pretty great. I've played around a lot on arena maps in a deathmatch gamemode. I would love it if there was an option for npcs to not stay idle at a position and constantly move from node to node. Make the map feel more alive, and I wouldn't have to chase after them all the time?
I also don't mean the "chase" feature in the mod already. I have other npcs spawned in that would make it better for them to fight aswell.
I'm not a programmer, so I don't know how difficult to implement this is. Thanks for reading if you made it this far.
The saturday I got the issue of regular zombies exploding always, just the normal zombie, the others doesn't and it doesn't have set to explode upon death.
I need help how to solve this if an addon cause this or a bug of the addon.
Seems like a gmod update broke this or something? My gmod server is running the beta branch and it used to work fine but now it is calling errors on the client?
I love this mod and use it constantly to just play zombie survival in single player. Hours of fun.
But sometimes the tedious nature of setting up a different list of NPCs and weapons is far from enjoyable.
If it's possible to create presets with names to then select later on so you don't need to completely re-add each and every setting like you once had it, that would be awesome! Because I do enjoy the variety of fighting zombies one day and a large list of combine the next, but it would make things so much faster and efficient.
Tried to use the command "zinv 1" on gm_fork. No zombies spawn and the console receives this error continuously in 1 second increments: lua/autorun/server/init.lua:338: attempt to compare number with nil.
For some reason the ZINV tab won't pop up in Options tab at all. I've used this mod many times before but it's not working on my server or in single player. Unsure of why this is happening. It would be fine if there was some type of command to open up the menu where I can edit NPC spawn chances and etc. and as well having commands to change npc max limit (there may be one, but it isn't in the description) although there are commands for the max distance, min distance, and whether the mod is on or off. Any help would be nice (even if you can't fix or figure out why the tab is not popping up in options, it would be nice if there were commands to open everything up for people who have mental disabilities such as myself.
So there is a altered version of your original ZINV on the workshop made YEARS ago that unlike the current version of your ZINV has instead of setting the number for each npc it just has a slider for collectively setting the max number of NPCs allowed and their spawn % chance period, leaving the npcs selected to spawn as they can.
It would be reaaaaaaaaaally cool if you could just add an alternate option to just set a collective spawn limit slider for ALL npcs, as having to manually set for each npc a max npc limit is much more tedious and annoying when trying to balance fps and npcs to fight.
With the way ZINV was before we had it set up so all NPCs had a chance to spawn, now it seems to just try and spawn everything at once, which makes this a lot less usable to have it occasionally spawn things like random objects or very very strong NPCs, I think its prudent to have spawn chances for this sort of thing, it seems to be attempting to just spawn every type of NPC atleast once and we have like maybe 100 or so NPCs ranging from combine to Vindictus bosses, we dont want Vindictus bosses to just out right spawn, we want them to have a percent chance to spawn
I'd like to see the NPC Hard cap reintroduced or atleast a way to make Zinv Prioritize npcs over other npcs
Hello,
I noticed you updated your mod after many years, that is great to see. I was just wondering, since there's ZINV+ on the workshop, will you ever implement features from it in to the original? Like NPCs seeking out players.
ZiNV does work with NPC spawning but the options in the Options tab menu does not show up at all. I disable all addons and rejoined construct but same issue. Restarting game fixes it if everything is disabled and then reenable ZiNV
It was kinda like how the AI Director from L4D2 works. And it is nice to have because it looks really weird to see NPCs spawning right at where I'm looking to...
