@abc3 Saw you merged to main. Just tested and I can't reproduce the issue. Closing the issue!
Perhaps in theory the two can't deadlock, because the Postgres protocol is pretty strictly turn based? i.e. we'll never be in a situation where we're handling some input from the client while the server is responding.

I can't say for sure, but it seems like due to "Pipelining" (in the protocol docs), you can have a situation where the client is continuing to send messages to the database, while the database responds as it handles those messages.
