Really slow on Google Mail with recent changes in findTextAreas() about emacs_chrome HOT 3 CLOSED

stuff working I did come across a performance problem with Google Reader. Because of the high number of DOM modifications continually triggering findTextAreas() it slowed stuff down. I tried to mitigate it by triggering the find off a timeout so the browser gets a chance to render stuff. It seemed to work for reader but I didn't give Gmail a spin.

I'll see if I can come up with a better way of knowing when is a good time to scan the page for new

tag handling. Instead of searching the whole document it only checks the subtree that has been changed. It will also batch up checks in times of heavy tree modification.

It's made a big difference on the Chromium profile information but it's hard to be subjective on my netbook. Could you have a look at the latest version and report back?
