Unfortunately, AsyncEx has grown to a point where adding .NET Core support directly isn't feasible.

So, AsyncEx is going to be split up into several (more or less) independent libraries that work with .NET Core: AsyncEx.Tasks, AsyncEx.Context, AsyncEx.Coordination, AsyncEx.Testing, Cancellation, and Mvvm.Async.

Here's a combined view of all my .NET Core libraries.

I'm interesting for using this classes:

  • AsyncProducerConsumerQueue
  • AsyncLock

Where I can find it for .Net Core?

AsyncProducerConsumerQueue hasn't been moved over yet, but will probably go into AsyncEx.Coordination.

AsyncLock is already in AsyncEx.Coordination.

Are there any updates on this? I see most of them have been updated but they are targeting the rc1 packages. RTM will be released next week.

StephenCleary avatar StephenCleary commented on August 13, 2024

Yeah, I made the mistake of thinking RC1 was a release candidate. Which it wasn't.

I've been planning to upgrade to RC2 but haven't had the time yet.

The RTM coming Monday is only a partial RTM. I'm still not clear on which parts of this are considered "tooling" and thus not actually RTM. In particular, a lot of the NuGet stuff (which is the core of the distribution mechanism) is still in flux.

niemyjski avatar niemyjski commented on August 13, 2024

It's the actual rtm of the code bits and won't be changed much from rc2. The tooling will still be in preview.

Depending on who you ask, NuGet support for netstandard has either already RTM'ed, will RTM on Monday, or will be considered "preview" on Monday.

Regardless, would be good to get the packages updated to rc2 as moving from rc2 to rtm should be a lot easier. But I could see why you'd want to wait :).

Follow #71 for updates on the v5 (netstandard) release.
