Hi @slikts -- that's not good -- did this happen when you upgraded from a previous version? And if you exit the blockstack browser tray application and restart it, do you seen anything when you open
localhost:8888
?

I'm sorry, I don't know what tray application you are referring to; there's no associated docs to the installer that I could find, it's just a link in the install page and that's it. I've not upgraded, just wanted to try this for the first time. I can't find any information for users; it's all for developers. I don't want to develop apps for something that I can't even run, and that seems to have the stability of a pre-alpha release.

I understand your frustration, the Blockstack Browser is under heavy development, so there can still be a few kinks in the process.
There's a background process which hosts content at localhost:8888
. This is a single-page webapp blockstack-browser
. That background process can be exited by right-clicking on a system-tray application with a little blockstack logo and clicking "Exit". If you don't see a tray icon, it means that background process isn't running (which seems like it is the case from the errors you are seeing). If you restart the "Blockstack Browser" application, it should start working.

I wasn't aware that the installer didn't start the process by itself; I checked for anything to run like so:
Not sure why, but it doesn't find Blockstack Browser, even though it finds other software fine.
After running the Blockstack Browser I can now log into apps, but there's still the issue of why every ID is unverified. I've added the verification posts, and the IDs were verified initially.

Closing this as old. If you are still seeing problems or this was closed in error, please reopen an issue here: https://github.com/blockstack/blockstack-browser
