As a workaround, I'm doing bundle exec cane -f *.rb; bundle exec cane -f **/*.rb
. This runs cane
over any .rb
files directly in this directory, as well as any .rb
files in deeper directories.
Ugly, but it works.

**/*.rb
includes the current directory, I'm not sure why you're running it twice. By default, cane uses the --*-glob
options to control which directories to scan.
I'm not convinced that a public API expansion is necessary to do what you can already achieve easily with globbing. You can keep trying though! :)

@xaviershay On my Mac, **/*.rb
neglects to scan files directly in the current directory.

what OS/shell?
from cane.
Mac OS X Mavericks, with builtin bash v3.0.
I managed to update bash to 4.0, and enable recursive globs, to get **/...
to behave as expected.
Though it would be nice if I didn't have to use file globs, to support bash v3.0. Cane could default to recursive mode, like roodi.
