We don't recommend deploying the server as a docker container and then launch the apps as docker containers as well since the apps would be deployed in the same container that the server is running in and you'd need to have the docker executable available there. The local server is intended to run as a Java process on your local machine for testing and demo purposes. If you really want to deploy apps as docker containers take a look at the Kubernetes version of the server: http://cloud.spring.io/spring-cloud-dataflow-server-kubernetes/
