Great! I'd like to suggest the following:

quantity = Quantity.new(75)
quantity.unit.label     #=> :unity
quantity.unit.symbol    #=> ""
quantity.unit.name      #=> ""     #(even after i18n applied)
quantity.to_s           #=> "75"   #note: no whitespace after 75
