ok, nevermind on the 0 calls, I now see that the API has made almost 500 calls, but I'm still getting a spinner. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Some assumptions I'm making looking at the code:
- my photos and videos need to be public?
- the tag will show all photos on flickr with that tag, not just my photos?

Ok, so I've gotten showing the electricobjectslives tag, but nothing else seems to work. Both custom tags and "my photos" just spin forever

ok, I can now see my own photos as well. The only issue I have now with loading is when trying to use a custom tag.
