@laurenmarietta I am going to assign this to you, if that is OK. I don't believe anyone on our team has used django
before, so it will be a learning experience for all of us!
I would suggest first figuring out how to create a very bare-bones 'hello world' type of application, just to figure out all of the working parts.
Don't hesitate to ask any questions.

This also looks like a decent tutorial: https://www.tutorialspoint.com/django/index.htm

I am definitely excited to try my hand at this and see what we can learn. I will take a look at the tutorial and try to make a simple application in the next week or so.

I've done web with python before, but not with django
, only with web2py
, which I think is even less scalable than flask

Update: @laurenmarietta and I met last week to discuss this. @laurenmarietta has created a simple web app using Django and is working to build upon it. So far, there is no reason to believe Django will not work for the JWQL project, so we will continue to develop with it.

I am going to close this issue, as there is no reason to believe we won't use django
at this point. We can open up separate issue(s) for the ongoing development of the web app.
