Kerning values are sometimes way too large about cufon HOT 7 CLOSED

Hi,

It's a known problem, but I still haven't figured out what exactly causes it. It looks like it may be a bug in FontForge (we're using a slightly outdated version as the newer ones have other issues).

Forgot to mention that unless you really need kerning you can get rid of the issue by unchecking "Include kerning tables" in the Performance & file size section.

I'll compile another version later today. The generator will be unavailable during this time.

The new version did not fix the problem. It's weird because the same version (well, for Mac) works fine on my macbook.

For now I've done the following in commit b7c3034:

Any kerning value with its absolute value larger than units-per-em * 2 is ignored. It should fix most, if not all issues.

I'll to have to figure out what exactly is wrong with the server some other time. Closing the ticket for now but please do reopen it / create a new one if you ever encounter the problem again.

I think I found the bug. I've patched and compiled a new version of FontForge, all kerning troubles should finally be over.

Sent the patch to FontForge's mailing list as well.
