The problem is not located in the JSONDiscoverer code but in the EMF2GV library.
The model/metamodel are discoverer properly (i.e., ecore and xmi are correct). Then the ecore is rendered into a picture, which is also fine. However, the renderization of the model (the xmi) raises an exception. The file generated by EMF2GV to be used by DOT is not correct and therefore the latter complains.
Closed as this does not depend on us :(
