I'll bump this since the issue is still present. The fix for me was to disable the Use the intercept library option.

LSI_DEBUG=1 in the environment and launch LSI and then the game

Sorry, I didn't know about the LSI_DEBUG environment variable.

Started LSI via LSI_DEBUG=1 lsi-steam, then started the game Don't Starve through Steam.
I was in the game for a brief moment until I could confirm, that the game is still unable to grab mouse control/events.

I am running Solus GNOME and I am having the exact same issue. Turning intercept library off does not fix it for me.

I had the same issue. I disabled "Use the intercept library", restarted steam and it worked normally. What about confirm this issue?
