@ryanmaxwell this is due to changes in the UITableView hierarchy in iOS7 see http://www.curiousfind.com/blog/646

If you add the label to self its actually getting added to UITableViewCellScrollView

NSLog(@"why oh why? : %@", NSStringFromClass(label.superview.class));

This causes problems since Autolayout and UIScrollView are not the best of friends.

If you add the label to self.contentView instead it works either way.

Hope that helps!

wow ok, weird. I will add my subviews to contentView instead. Closing as it's not a bug in Masonry.

@ryanmaxwell I don't mean to be picky, but in general, contentView seems to be the best choice when adding a view to a table view cell. By observing the API changes since iOS 3.0 it seems as if Apple "wants" us to place any view inside the content view in a cell. That's also why when designing in IB any view gets added into the contentView by default. It's the only "safe" place. Even by using the "old methods" of setting autoresizing masks, I have experienced strange auto-sizing behaviours if the views were not added in the contentView. Just an advice after having so many headaches with this myself.
