Actually, should SMACk be installing these header files?

I created current SMACK's installation procedure using LLVM's cookbook for how to do that with LLVM projects. So SMACK is currently following LLVM's build and installation procedure, which is I think nice.
I agree that header files for SMACK are currently not needed. However, I do wonder if hacking into its build files is the way to go...

I thought more about this, and I think that this behavior of "make install" actually makes sense:

  • you don't want that "make install" simply overwrites files that are already there, because in general it could overwrite files that you actually care about
  • you don't want that "make install" silently does not copy your files since that you don't know what actually got installed.
I guess maybe there is a way that make just issues a warning instead of failing (in fact, you can invoke it with make -i to ignore errors), but given this is such a minor issues, I propose we just close it.
