Slatebox

Slatebox is a free and open real-time visual collaboration canvas that allows remote participants to work together on a shared, infinite canvas. It is an alternative to proprietary apps like Miro.com.

Licensed with the Elastic License 2.0, Slatebox is free and open software than can be used for commercial purposes and installed on your own servers free of charge. Additionally, Slatebox Cloud is a SaaS service that makes it easy and affordable to get started.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have met the following requirements:

• You have installed the latest version of Docker.
• You have a Linux machine running a modern OS.

Tech Stack

Slatebox is built with Meteor using React and Material UI. Native to Meteor development is Mongo as the backend; Slatebox Cloud extends the real-time performance of Meteor by implementing the redis oplog caching layer, but this performance improvement is not baked into the Slatebox community edition.

Slateboxjs is the MIT-licensed diagramming library used.
