@Kenhasteandersen , I just tried to save the updated params objects with
usethis::use_data(Barents_params)
or with
save(params, file = "data/Barents_params.RData", compress = "bzip2")
and in either case they are taking three times as much space as when you saved them. What command did you use to save them?

I have now updated the initial values to be the steady state values, thus closing this issue.
@Kenhasteandersen , please ignore my earlier question about how you saved the parameter objects. After restarting R I now get even smaller file sizes when saving those objects. I will have to investigate why that happened.
@juliablanchard, please start a new issue regarding your proposal for a changed NS_params object.
