I think this is a reasonable suggestion, and would indeed make it easier to use the store with naturally ordered collections. I don't think this will be in the first release of dstore, but I am interested in investigating supporting this.

I really hope this feature makes it. The reason why I think it's so important is that in order to make it easy to do DnD on a store, the store needs to support before
. Without it, supporting DnD on Dgrid becomes hard (with Memory) to impossible (with JsonRest stores).
I very humbly changed Memory.js so that it takes into account the before
option. The change is really, really unintrusive:
It's not a pull request because the change is based on the old Memory.js store, and I have never actually used the new dstore (I am waiting for it to be finished, before I switch completely to it).
