Hey, thanks! That’s actually super relevant to us. While we’re not unhappy with Marked, we haven’t bumped it in a long time. When they added generators and started adding (what we at the time thought were) weird defaults. Definitely something I’d like to check out.

No problem! I'll close this up since you have the lead now. The folks writing all the code are planning to use it in a forum, so they need to keep it extra secure from XSS. The maintainer will be using it in a static site generator tool, so it also needs to have the flexibility to pass through HTML. Lots of smart discussion around those types of ideas going on.

We ended up sticking with Marked and going with the generators feature. Appreciate you bringing this to our attention though. :)
