@sindresorhus, @dylang, the only fix I can think of for this issue is to show the bars on separate lines when there's at least one task with a very long name. If you agree, I'll submit a pull request.

I'm not sure how that will work with the table generator.
I was thinking a solution could be to crop names longer than some number of characters, such as 50% of the width of the screen.

If the first 50% of two or more names are the same, that would be confusing.
I think, I'm better at explaining things in code ; check this out sorich87@d852aaa. Run grunt then grunt long to see the differences.

Do it like OS X and crop in the middle. The important part is usually at the start and end.
