Hm, I suppose it's not implemented yet. TBH didn't even come to my mind but my usage of grafana kind of differs from the standard way.

I'll look into it when I'll have some task that includes grafana development to do or you can send PR ;)

I know, which is why I'm here :) Also it would be good to have an installation wiki as the command you put on the README does not work.

Here's what I had to do:

$ cd /var/lib/grafana/plugins/
$ git clone https://github.com/simPod/grafana-json-datasource.git
$ mv grafana-json-datasource/ json/

I will see if I can find the time at changing it to allow for variables myself. Thanks
