Group chat is totally broken on OpenRouter for Command R since the group nudge has system role. The workaround is to create a custom prompt set to user and copy the group nudge.

Well, the default system prompts are.... by default, system prompts. Switching their role defeats the purpose of them?

If your backend can't support system prompts like this, you'll have a lot more issues.
Bias not working, impersonation not really working, and likely a lot more. I don't think it's actually a good idea to just automatically change the role.

What stops you from manually emptying those prompts and creating custom ones that suit your specific backend with its quirks?

Some may describe system role as a fancy user role. Some models don't have a system role, but this isn't the issue.

Specifically Cohere models are bugged on OpenRouter, and everything is solved by setting it to user. It's not wrong to set it to user. Sometimes people type in a [bracketed message] in their own message. A built-in bracketed message isn't much different aside from being forced set to system.

Yes, making custom prompts work, but the request is to provide an option to set system prompts after start of chat to user so we don't have to set custom prompts that are copies of the Utility Prompts except for the role and then toggle them on/off every time they continue or impersonate.
