@Mataz Toxiproxy is doing the right thing, but perhaps the Timeout toxic is ill-named. The timeout Toxic is for triggering timeouts in the client, to ensure they work correctly. It won't send any data, ever. It will not pass any data through for x seconds, and then it will close the connection (what you see as empty reply from server).

If you have suggestions for how to make the documentation more clear, we'll happily accept a PR.
