In BibTeX, the format.name$
function is used to format names. The disappearance of the second hyphen in the family name is due to the processing by this format.name$
function.
Since this behavior is caused by the format.name$
function in BibTeX, it cannot be addressed by econ.bst
.
If it is not too much trouble, you can enclose the entire family name in {}
, like this:
author = {Pukhov, A. and {Meyer-ter-Vehn}, J.}
This way, no modifications will be made by BibTeX to the content inside {}
.
