Just made the function observe_slice() to do this. I want to make sure that it's faster using python's time package before switching to it.

Ran 4 tests, 2 of the original calculations and 2 of the new observe_slice() ones, and WOW!!!!!!!! Issue #3 is getting closer and closer to being solved (also that issue should probably have a more precise title). The time it took to run 100 physics steps for the original calculations was 4304461700ns and 4348313000ns (looks like those if statements I added do make some difference). The new calculations only took 3042253000ns and 3231620400ns!!! That's about a 25% increase in performance!!

I'll close this issue when I commit the changes
