Error when remote hostname does not (yet) exist about graypy HOT 2 CLOSED

I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to do. It seems that you're passing a wrong value for the hostname to the handler. Try sending the IP address instead as a string.

I'm trying to configure logging using a domain name. An IP address is no good because it may change. It's not a 'wrong value' for the domain name, it's the correct value - it just doesn't exist yet. :)

The problem is that I'm trying to configure logging for the script which adds the domain name to the log server. The script fails because it's configured to log to a name which doesn't (yet) exist. I think that the script should warn, but not fail, then, when the domain name exists, it can start logging to the log server.

The behaviour seems inconsistent. If I try to log to a server which is not a log server, it is OK. If I try to log to a domain name which does not exist, then it fails.
