It could happend if the wx.__version__ is less than 2.9.3.1

Hmmm, that coud be a problem because by default Macs still come with a
2.8 version. There is a new Mac OS X coming out in the next few weeks
but I don't know what wx it comes with.
Ok, well we now know what the error means. I will think what to do about it!

Since we have adopted wxPython 2.9 for other reasons of functionality, and
since it is available for all the platforms we target, I do not believe there
is any reason to to code workarounds for this issue. The benefits of making
v2.9 outweigh the need to write exception specific code.
