Hello!
I'm modifyed Diku Gamma code for Ubuntu Linux.
This compiles and runs fine: https://github.com/prool/dikumud

It was clearly supposed to use slog() which is the MUDs logging function. I'll take a look.

Oh sorry, you're in the super early gamma version. Back then there probably wasn't any math.h to interfere :-D The DikuMUD Alfa is newer. I can recommend looking at DikuMUD III if you want something stable which still hs a Diku feel. It's being actively maintained.

Thank you for you kind reply. I am interested in the Gamma version for historical reasons. It is the main trunk of the Merc mud tree which has many descendants. I managed to suppress all the errors in my fork of this code so it compiles on a modern Linux distro. I have managed to get the DikuMUD Gamma running with 'Ubuntu Hirsute Hippo' on my fork. It still has issues reading binary save files like 'pcobjs.obj' and 'players' but the mud chugs along ok even with those issues.

I think Merc is likely from the Alfa branch (which is newer than the Gamma
one). But not sure.

Merc comes from Sequent and Copper. Sequent allegedly comes from Gamma.
