If I remember correctly, SMC used NSIS for the Windows installer. However, I'm not sure if it works that well anymore. I couldn't get it to build with the 1.9 stable release using the native NSIS build tools.

I’ve not touched the NSIS stuff in SMC, it’s still below the smc/extras directory. However, as CMake AFAIK can directly package an installer from the build system’s information, I think that option should be preferred. Still have to read up about how it works, though.
