I think a different name might make sense insofar as, based on the discussions you and I have had, you've already varied at least somewhat from some of the more obscure or nuanced aspects of the original paper.

I would consider the deviations (listed in the README) to be implementation details, as they don't actually affect the performance of the algorithm--though the decision to not limit which Nodes are stored in the routing table is a questionable deviation. I'd consider other changes (see #6) to be more blatant deviations from the core algorithm.

Well, it seems like this is a pretty uncontroversial change. :) I'm going to go ahead and rename this repository, then create a new secondbit/pastry repository that points users to the new repository.
