I have found a nice name: Hermes.

Here, a quote from Wikipedia:

Hermes (Ἑρμῆς, Hērmēs)
God of boundaries, travel, communication, trade, language, and writing.

I think that fits our construction and analysis of developer networks quite accurately.

Any thoughts? Futher ideas?

I have had some time yesterday and searched again for a cool name. And I hope that I found one: CORONET (ignoring any ideas for the exact capitalization).

Why do I think it is a great idea:

  1. I have justification from an acronymifier that I used with the word combination "configurable reproducible network library" [1].
  2. "In English, a coronet is a small crown consisting of ornaments fixed on a metal ring." [2] This emphasizes the idea what a great deal our network library is. 😉
  3. Coronet City is the capital city of the planet Corellia [3], the home planet of Han Solo! Of course, a Star Wars reference would be sooo cool! 😊😁

As always, this is just an idea, but I would really like to tackle the issue of name finding rather sooner than later. What are your thoughts?

I really like the name CORONET. It is an acronym for what the library is and of course the Star Wars reference.

The task list to check for renaming the project to coronet:

  • In a PR:
    • Replace codeface-extraction-r to coronet everywhere.
    • Add some information on how to migrate Git submodules or the information that the user needs to change something.
  • After the PR:
    • Rename the repository!
    • Optional: Set the project to "public" for the next release.
