Unlikely. It really boils down to the underlaying components (primarily UZBL and Omxplayer).

There may be ways to work around that, but what exactly are you looking to accomplish? Fetch/stream items from an SMB/CIFS-share?

Yeah that is the thing im looking for. For instance stream mp4 file from my NAS to Screenly. Our customers have TV's in their shops with constantly showing movies. This could be possible with hosting them (allready tried, works well) but streaming from their local NAS would be nice aswell.

Ok. I'll see what I can do down the road. In the meantime, you might look into serving that content over HTTP from the NAS. I know many consumer-grade NASes do support this.

I've looked closer into this, and none of the underlaying components support UNC. Hence Screenly can support it either unfortunately (without any ugly workaround).
