sounds like you need to find the file the admin settings are stored in and provide your own assemble script that will take the settings file from your repo and use it, instead of creating one on app startup.
or you need to create your own python s2i builder image that already has the settings you want, and use that as your s2i builder image.

What type of python are you running? Is it the standard python one with MYSQL or the persistent one with an NFS backend.
If the former, then yes, each time you push, you'll get a rebuilt container and new DB :(. If you want it persistent, try the persistent template.
