make jagged_array work with numba.jit(nopython=True) about awkward-0.x HOT 6 CLOSED

Okay, nevermind the last part, JaggedArray has an init for that.

This is definitely on my to-do list, and so I'll leave it as an open issue.

In fact, I've done this before: OAMap was made into Numba extension types because it didn't have any array-like operations (Numba was the only way to operate on OAMap efficiently). Last time it took about three weeks to write the Numba extension types; this time would probably be faster because I understand Numba internals better. However, there is the major issue of finding the one or two weeks to do it.

For example, incorporating awkward-array into Dask is a higher priority item for other reasons.

That's ok, I just stumbled over this today, and I have my workaround. I just think it would be a useful feature and once people start to use uproot and numba more often together, it will come up a lot.

This is PR #83. The JaggedArray class has been implemented (see the tests), but so far, that's the only class. I'm working on Table, now.

The plans on this are changing—it's a long story that I can explain sometime, and this capability will eventually be there, but not in the way that it had hitherto been planned.

I'm cleaning out old issues to get a clearer idea of what's necessary for maintenance.
