dat-fox-helper's Issues

dat:// protocol urls are opening in Beaker

I ran the setup script on MacOS, and the extension test passes. But when I click on a dat:// link in Firefox, a blank tab opens with the URL. Then the page is opened in Beaker Browser.

Unusual memory usage?

I'm running dat-fox-helper with Firefox 80.0.1 on Peppermint 10 Respin, installed using the Linux installer. I notice that it uses nearly 34G of virtual memory, doing nothing but running in the background, waiting to be useful. This is 10x as much as any other single process running on my computer. Is this normal?

Adding it to AUR?

We have a custom Manjaro distribution https://www.tromjaro.com and we want to ship with this DAT feature integrated into Firefox. It would help a lot if there was an AUR package for it. We are decentralizing our websites via DAT and want to ship Firefox + DAT as default. Would you be interested to help us do that? Cheers!

js: err_ buffer_out_of_bounds() during attempted Windows install

The following error occurs when I run dat-fox-helper-win.exe, v0.1.0, on Windows 8.1:

internal/buffer.js:53
    throw new ERR_BUFFER_OUT_OF_BOUNDS();
    ^

proxy server is refusing connections

i downloaded and clicked on dat-fox-helper. exe but dat-fox-helper. exe is running empty endlessly without installing anything except of library folder. anyway, I tried to access dat website from my firefox but it was denied with the error - "The proxy server is refusing connections", what am i doing wrong to fix it?
when i run the test to test the connection it prints "Error: An unexpected error occurred"

*have to note that on regedit the key NativeMessagingHosts was missing(i added it)..

How to Uninstall

Can you please include a method in your install script to do a clean uninstall of the helper.
Or at least provide instructions somewhere on how to do so manually.

Cannot list directories?

Like for example this one dat://ca85cb3c20ad37649e72b274fc47be5586bd75815b7a90aa19de4a4e7e441908/ - it only shows the text "directory" but no content.

error in readme

the path to dat-fox-helper on linux is:
chmod +x ~/.local/datfox/dat-fox-helper
and not
chmod +x ~/.local/datfox/dat-fox-helper-linux
:)

Directory listings always empty

  1. Open dat://beakerbugs.hashbase.io/

Expected: To see a directory listing with files.

Actual: just the string “Directory /”.
