Sloop does not do this currently, but it's a good suggestion and something we want to add as soon as we find a good way.

For context, Sloop gets all its info about a kubernetes cluster from watching resources (Pod, Deployment, etc) and watching Events. When a user deletes a pod using kubectl, all we get from the corresponding Killing event is the component that removed the pod (kubelet+hostname):

{
  "reason": "Killing",
  "message": "Killing container with id docker://xxx-pod-name:Need to kill Pod",
  "source": {
    "component": "kubelet",
    "host": "xxx-hostname"
  },
  "firstTimestamp": "2019-10-02T17:59:17Z",
  "lastTimestamp": "2019-10-02T17:59:17Z",
  "count": 1,
  "type": "Normal",
  "eventTime": null,
  "reportingComponent": "",
  "reportingInstance": ""
}

We would either need to find additional sources of input data that work everywhere, or explore adding extra info to the events.

On a related note, we will soon have the ability to show payload changes for resources. So if you have automation like Spinnaker or Jenkins creating/updating deployments, you could add info about the pipeline run and trigger to an annotation which we could easily expose the before/after value plus transition timestamp.

from sloop.
