Hi, the pins info are storage in the {WORKING_DIR}/.vscode/pinned-files.json, please try to delete this file and reload the VSCode.

Oh, and I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the extension, but that didn't fix it.
Is there a file somewhere that tracks the pins?

Deleting the pins manually worked, stale pins should def be removed automatically
