there are two things to do:
- add the message
- switch to exporting the variable automatically instead of current code ... although I would release it on a branch (beta) first as not everything in
Gemfile
is supported in rubygems 2.2, I'm trying to promote the new code, but there is no easy way without breaking compatibility for many users - btw. I have added you as contributor so you can push the updated code to new branch on the project
from rubygems-bundler.
I've opened a pull request for the README update - I'm not comfortable making changes without your signoff ;)
I'm not sure when I'll have time for the second item, but that makes a lot of sense. Hopefully I can take another look in a couple weeks if it's still open.

I was thinking about the second point for few months now, so either of us will do it ;) just make sure to pushe the branch as soon as you start working on it so we do not duplicate efforts - closing this issue - open a PR for the branch when the code is ready

sounds good! i updated the readme again; let me know what you think (and happy to squash the commits when you're happy if you'd like).

hi, I'm so sorry I did not answer earlier, I only now understand that you asked for my approval in my message, please go ahead if you are still interested and have some time for it
