Rudiney Soares Pereira is professor in the Department of Rural Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. In addition, he supervises at Master's and Doctorate levels with the Postgraduate Program in Forestry Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Maria. He holds a PhD in Forestry Engineering from the Federal University of Paraná, Paraná, Brazil. He is dedicated to research in Remote Sensing, Geoprocessing and Data Science using Artificial Intelligence with an emphasis on simulation and prediction of Land Use and Land Cover scenarios with intensive use of data from artificial satellite images, database developing and using software opensource.
