Hi soupmatt,
I don't know whether your example is an actual use case or just an experiment, but, since you know that your queue declaration could result in a channel exception and channel closure, I suggest something like this:
require 'bunny'
client = Bunny.new
client.start
channel = client.channel
# Try to access a queue that doesn't exist
begin
channel.queue("does.not.exist", :passive => true)
rescue Bunny::NotFound
puts "got expected exception - reinstantiate channel"
channel = client.channel
end
channel.queue("my.queue") # Works as expected
Would this type of solution suffice?
Regards,
Chris
