huh...that's really strange. Can replicate with Python 3.6.4 (Jan 5 2018) IPython 6.2.1. Oddly, it works if you get rid of the >>>
too.

Yeah, not sure if it is a bug to log with ipython, or if it is intentional. Does this strike you as very problematic?

Might be worth opening an issue on the ipython page and see what they say. Doesn't seem like something they'd intentionally do since it's valid Python code....I don't think it's a huge problem but I also know that I don't need to copy comments and I've been writing code for a while.

I don't think this will cause too much confusion since it can be avoided by either deleting the comments or deleting the >>>. I personally didn't run into this since I prefer to type everything out instead of copying and pasting.

@davidmascharka I think I am going to add a note to the Guide to Formatting, and instruct the reader to not copy multi-line comment blocks
