Hot app update from app code about rpush HOT 7 CLOSED

BTW, I'm currently workaround-ing this by calling a custom-defined method like this:

def send_hup_signal_to_rpush
  system("ps ax | grep rpush | grep -v grep | awk '{print \"kill -1 \" $1}' | sh")
end

Don't know if this is a very bad approach, but it's working for me so far...

Yep, HUP is the only way currently. I'd love for it to be automatic, I've not come up with a decent solution for it yet (other than the obvious polling, but that sucks).

hi @pdaire I wouldn't say "solution", but yes, it's a valid workaround for that.

I tried it and it works, though I finally re-designed my environment to not need this kind of things. I personally don't like making system calls from code if not absolutely necessary.

In 2.0.0 (not released yet), you no longer need to signal HUP. New apps are loaded automatically.
