I would really like it be able to search with grouping.
I don't know R but I could help you testing it or documenting it.

Awesome, thanks for your interest. I will start a function and push it up to this repo. I'll ping you once it's up. Would be great to have help with test and documentation.

  • Tests in the /tests/testthat directory:
    https://github.com/ropensci/solr/tree/master/tests/testthat
  • And fill any documentation you think I miss that goes along with the
    function itself (once its up).
  • Also add some examples to the vignette (a tutorial) herehttps://github.com/ropensci/solr/blob/master/vignettes/solr_vignette.Rmd

Hey @jonasanso I added solr_group function in last commit. All the examples in the function man file should work. Although,, I haven't worked on parsing for XML output yet.

We need more documentation in the vignette and README file. And more example in the man file for the function exploring all options (http://wiki.apache.org/solr/FieldCollapsing).

Let me know if you have any questions.

I'll work on getting XML parsing done.

Thanks I will make a pull request this week.

I need to learn the vignette stuff, but I see you have generated a very
complete man page.

The README file will not be a problem.

Great, thanks! Also, when you try the function, let me know if you find any bugs, or want something different in the output, etc.
