nice catch -- would removing the class on #nav-main be good enough? it doesn't appear to affect/break anything
i don't think it occurs anywhere else except here in the header unless i'm missing something

Oof. Yeah sorry, I was thinking it was happening in front-page.php and footer.php, but I was mistaken.
Just removing
class="<?php echo roots_container_class; ?>"
would be totally fine, as far as 960 is concerned. This won't affect Blueprint or anything else? If not, I'll be happy to submit a pull req.

tested in blueprint (good) and should be fine in 1140/anything else since #nav-main ul has 100% width
