google-chat-linux's Issues

pull request

Hi,

for my teammates here (and myself), I've added a tray icon action (click to show/hide), and a small context menu (hide/show/quit).

I'd like to propose you a pull request for this, would you mind opening the repo to my contributions ?

thx !

Debian packaging

on debian 10:
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of google-chat-linux:
google-chat-linux depends on libgconf2-4; however:
Package libgconf2-4 is not installed.

aptitude search libgconf
i A libgconf-2-4

The right package name is libgconf-2-4 insted of libgconf2-4

Ubuntu "not supported on your current browser"

Hey,
When i try start electron in ubuntu got window with information:
"Whoops, sorry, Hangouts Chat is not supported on your current browser.
List of supported browsers"

P.S. Binary release does not exist (error 404).

requirement to port this to archlinux

Hi,

I ould be interested in porting this to archlinux.
At first sight it's an 'electon' app.

What do you think would be required to have this work on a not-debian based distro ?
(Worded differently : what (to your knowledge) is thightly related to debian-based distro.)

thanks for any advice !

notification warning : icon change in tray

I'm using the app on archlinux with gnome 3 desktop.
The 'tray' icon is displayed.
Notifications through the native 'notification mechanism' of gnome works.

But the icon in tray does not change. Is it on purpose ? Would it be possible to have it change somehow ?
(like, red when something new happens)

slack client is built on electron too and does it, but I have no idea what google chat would require to do so.

thanks !

How to use it ?

Hello,

I'd like to try this application, but I don't how to :-)
Can you give pointers to any setup guides or installation tutorials ?

Thank you
