Hi there šŸ‘‹

  • šŸ” Iā€™m currently working on MaterializeInc/materialize. That's where I spend most of my time and energy. Check it out!

  • šŸ’¬ My main interests are databases, database benchmarking, distributed systems, and timely dataflow.

  • šŸ“« How to reach me: email or twitter.

  • I maintain a blog but I haven't blogged in a while, as I'm always behind on my professional writing obligations at the Materialize blog.

Apache Arrow is a cross-language development platform for in-memory data. It specifies a standardized language-independent columnar memory format for flat and hierarchical data, organized for efficient analytic operations on modern hardware. It also provides computational libraries and zero-copy streaming messaging and interprocess communication. Languages currently supported include C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python, and Ruby.

materialize icon materialize

Materialize is an in-memory database that persists on disk, used as a database, cache, and stream processor. Materialize supports different kinds of low-latency inputs: reading Kafka streams, or the changelog from PostgreSQL. The data model is SQL Materialized Views. Think the speed and write-rate of Redis, but entirely in SQL.
