The package you cite is probably the latest stable release, which is wildly outdated. Please compile latest GIT or use the Ubuntu PPA (if applicable).

I have the same result after compile on my Debian (Wheezy) :(

$ skippy-xd
main(): WM not NETWM or GNOME WM Spec compliant. Troubles ahead.
running once then quitting...
skippy_run(): No client windows found.

Sorry for the issue. I'm planning to merge my WIP patch tonight, which provides a certain degree of support for non-EWMH/GNOME compliant WMs, but perhaps not great enough for you. Not sure if XMonad.Hooks.EwmhDesktops will help.

For Xinerama, I believe the support is already there.

For the non-Xinerama multi-screen setup, Xorg imposed many limitations, and I would doubt if we could archive what you expect. I will check it out later, when I finish my work at hand.

Tried to include windows from other screens as well (a43449e, change includeAllScreens to true to try), but it doesn't work. Painting a Picture across screen triggered a BadMatch error. I need some time to investigate further.

I added another boolean switch, avoidThumbnailsFromOtherScreens. You might be able to get your windows on other screens displayed as icons if you enable it and includeAllScreens. I need to investigate further if you really need the thumbnails.
