I only have Windows 10 (64bit). Hence the README says:
The releases section of the GitHub repository provides binary downloads for up-to-date versions of both Windows 10 (64bit) and macOs.
But I agree, it would make sense to repeat it in the dedicated Windows section. I have a Win7 VM somewhere --- maybe I can support it. But that's very low on my todo list.
I cannot infer from your post: Did you try on Win7 and it didn't work..? Was it 32bit? That would explain it...

I understand the sentence you quote as "doesn't run on Windows 7". But I don't think that you want to say this.
I tested on 8.1(64 bit). I didn't test on windows 7.
I don't think that you should support older versions at all: If an error occurs only in windows 7 but not in 10 I would label it as "wontfix". Your time is much too valuable (and I still have so many suggestions ...) and win7 support will end in 2020-01-14. If you release a stable version in six months windows 7 will only live for one year ...
I think a sentence like this is much more clear: "The releases section of the GitHub repository provides binary downloads. The Windows version has only been tested with Windows10 (64bit). It might work with Windows 7 or 8.1. Do this at your own risk". But there's a good chance that my English is at fault for my misunderstanding.
