While a great idea, I believe that the purpose of this should be to learn how to use/develop on Qlik Core. Maybe a separate “demo” package can be created to support simple download and run style activities.

Since it is targeting Qlik Core developers, the requirement to have Node.js and Docker on the dev machine seems pretty light. I'm not fully confident that running the example Node.js code in Docker makes things much easier for newcomers.

It is light, but we've seen quite a few times that people has it installed, but older versions which is not super obvious. This way, we ensure they get a smooth start at least.
